Citation and Writing Tools

The Chicago Manual of Style is often used for formatting and citing references when writing papers in the field of philosophy. Chicago uses two basic documentation systems: the humanities style (notes and bibliography) and the author-date system.  Choosing between the two will depend on the requirements of your professor.

Zotero is a free, open source, web-based tool for management citations, organizing pdfs, and creating bibliographies. Go to the SLC Zotero Libguide for more information. Tutorials and help are also available through the Zotero website.
