Searching for Information

Think about keywords related to your topic to start your search in the library's WorldCat catalogWhen you find a good book, try the subject links to lead to more resources on the topic.

Try some of these subject headings in WorldCat:

Guadalupe, Our Lady of, in art  | Visions | Apparitions | Spain religious life and customs | Mary, Blessed Virgin, Saint | Icon painting | Optical Illusions | Icons, Byzantine| Iconoclasm

Sample Articles

Access articles via the Databases A-Z page. If off campus, you'll need to log in with your SUEID.

Note: You can also copy the title of these then paste into the search box, whether on WorldCat or in a database like Academic Search Complete to get to these articles. Email hookerk@southwestern.edu if you have any access problems with these.

Remember to consider whether your article is scholarly or popular- consult this chart or a librarian for help.

Jesus Vision Experiment

Instructions:

"Concentrate on the four dots in the middle of the picture for about 30 seconds. Then close your eyes and tilt your head back. Keep your eyes closed. In a few seconds you will see a circle of light. Continue looking at the circle and you will be amazed at what you'll see next.

After viewing the four dots a second time for 30 seconds, don't close your eyes but instead look at a white or light colored wall and the image will appear there, only larger than the one with your eyes closed.

Also for a really breathtaking and awesome view of this same image, take a hard copy version of this image outside and, just before the sun sets, look at the dots for 30 seconds and then look up into the sky and you will see a large picture. It is really awesome."
