Academic Search Complete
A great starting point for research. Scholarly, multi-discipline, full-text journal database designed specifically for academic institutions. Covers the social sciences, education, computer sciences, engineering, language & linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies. Includes full-page images & color-embedded images. Contains over 13,690 indexed and abstracted journals, nearly 9,100 full-text journals, and full-text for more than 7,900 peer-reviewed journals.
JSTOR: Journals, primary sources, and books
JSTOR provides electronic access to back runs of more than 2,000 important scholarly journals, more than 60,000 e-books, and over 2 million primary sources. Search by subject or browse full text of scholarly journals in the arts and humanities, social science and life sciences, to their earliest issues. Many titles extend as far back as late 19th or early 20th centuries; most recent 3-5 years not included.
A comprehensive database covering the world’s mathematical literature since 1940. Access to mathematical reviews and mathematical publications. Provides web access to the bibliographic data and reviews of mathematical research literature contained in the Mathematical Reviews Database. Contains over 2.8 million items and over 1.6 million direct links to original articles.
Wiley Online Library
Wiley Online Library is a multi-disciplinary database that includes a large group of full-text journal articles. The database also includes abstracts of additional journal articles and reference sources, summary information for online books, citations to Current Protocols laboratory manuals, and abstracts of databases. Email alerts are available if you register.
Google Scholar searches scholarly literature and includes peer-reviewed papers, dissertations, book citations, preprints, abstracts and technical reports from a variety of content providers. Sources of material include academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories, universities and open access publishers. Some content is available in full text. BUT Google Scholar will not contain everything that is in the Library's subscription databases.
A full-text journal package covering over 2,450 scholarly titles in the following fields: architecture and design, biomedical and life sciences, business and economics, chemistry and materials science, computer science, earth and environmental science, engineering, humanities, psychology/behavioral science, social sciences and law, mathematics and statistics, medicine, and physics and astronomy. Most content begins with 1997 and continues to the most recent issue. The Advanced Search feature allows searching across the entire database by author, title, or text keyword.
A free, publicly available deep web search engine that uses advanced "federated search technology" to return high quality results by submitting your search query - in real-time - to other well respected search engines then collating, ranking and dropping duplicates of the results.
ERIC: Education Resources Information Center
National education database, indexing journal articles and reports in education. Provides full text of education related journals from over 1.3 million records.
ScienceDirect, the full-text sciences periodicals database from Elsevier, contains over 25% of the world's science, technology and medicine full text and bibliographic information. More than 2,500 journals are available on ScienceDirect. Most full text begins in 1995.
Offers coverage in applicable areas of agriculture, ecosystem ecology, energy, natural resources, marine & freshwater science, geography, pollution & waste management, environmental technology, environmental law, public policy, social impacts, urban planning, and more. Contains more than 2.4 million records for more than 2,200 titles both domestic and international.
Medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system and pre-clinical sciences, and much more from 5,400 current biomedical journals.
