Where to Find Scholarly Sources about Education Topics

The library has subscriptions to databases containing scholarly articles in many subject areas, and articles from popular magazines and newspapers. Databases featured in the tabs in this box are particularly useful for The Science and Art of Play.

Academic Search Complete is a comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database. It is one of many library subscription databases.

Tip: When you view a full record for an article, read the abstract, or summary, to quickly ascertain if it is relevant to your research.

WorldCat Local has the ability to search for books, audiovisual materials, and journals as well as for articles in our most popular, multi-disciplinary databases (Academic Search Complete, JSTOR, and Project Muse).

Subject Searching - Play

Searching by keyword is one way. Searching by Subject Heading is another. Clicking on the links under "More Like This" in the WorldCat Local catalog will take you to a list of other items that have also been classified under that heading.
