Where to Find Scholarly Articles

Databases are library tools that you can use to locate scholarly articles in many subject areas, and articles from popular magazines and newspapers.

Academic Search Complete is a comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database. It is one of many library subscription databases, but is a great one to start your search.

Tip: When you view a full record for an article, read the abstract, or summary, to quickly ascertain if it is relevant to your research.

Library databases also contain non-scholarly, or "popular" articles and sources. You can limit your search to "scholarly" or "peer-reviewed" to get only those kinds of materials.

WorldCat Local has the ability to search for books, audiovisual materials, and journals as well as for articles in our most popular, multi-disciplinary databases (Academic Search Complete, JSTOR, and Project Muse).
